Here is a comprehensive list of social networking, hooping sites and hoopers that have inspired me, please click on the link and it will open in a new window:

Social Networking Sites

When I first started hooping in Febrauary 2006 I noticed that in America there was a strong online hoop community both at hooping.org and the hula hooping tribe. So I set up the hulahoopdanceUk tribe as a place where I hoped to meet other UK hoopers. There are many other great tribes on this online forum site like the hooping video tribe, the hooping costumes tribe and video tutorial tribe.

In 2007 the Hyperloophoop forum site was started by Jon and Skully. This is a fantastic place to discuss moves, watch video's and meet new hoopers in your area because it is based in the UK. They are both lovely people and they are planning to run a festival if enough people are interested. Go visit them and show your support.

Diana Defries has recently set a tribe.net space for London hoopers. Facebook and MySpace both have hoopgroups in the UK. I don't use them enough but I will update this soon with the rellevant info. In the meantime if you know this please contact me and I'll update it asap.

Sites in the Uk

Diana Defries of HoopsWhirled is an associate of mine based in London. She is the first Hoopgirl trained teacher in the Uk.

John Parnell, Hoopguy, sells a wide range of hoops from all over the globe as well as organising teacher trainings, like the Hoopgirl training in 2008.

Marion of my hooping store was the first person to bring over a professional teacher trainer from the US, she is officially affiliated with BodyHoops

Sue has set up a great website for supplying the must have sparkly tape, please support her by visiting fancytapes

Hoop Dancers

There are so many fantastic hoopdancers out there in the world but the following have influenced me the most, they are not in any particular order.

The effortless smoothness of Diana Lopez of Body Hoops See her in action here.

The fantastic show womanship of Christabel Zamor aka HoopGirl. See her in action here.

The amazing 'mother' of hooping Anah from hoop revolution. See her super slick hooping here.

The sublime Spiral See her beautiful dancing here.

The super cool Groovehoops collective. See them in badass funky action hooping here.

Hoop Path Padre Baxter continues to inspire me with his teaching style. See him in ninja hip hop hooping here.

Both Julah (see her here) and Beth (see her here) are also members of the HoopPath. They continue to inspire me greatly.

Please also visit Alan's hoop making page for instructions on how to make hoops Uk stylee. Or Why not visit the Jason Unbound page to see how it is done in the states. Or even give Natasha's video's on how to make and decorate hoops a go.
